This posting just came my way, and I thought I'd share it.  Although it
seems to revolve mostly around Windows NT, it also states that knowledge of
Sun Solaris UNIX 2.x will be needed.  E-mail your resume to me if you are

Functional Job Title: Network Systems Engineer - NT
Salary Grade:  Technical
Exemption Status:  Exempt

This Job Exists To:  Provide expert level support.  Plan installations and
perform new product evaluations.  Recommend upgrades.  Work with 3rd party
software performing installation, debugging and upgrades.

Job Scope - The Network Systems Engineer position performs with minimal
supervision from the department Manager or Project Manager.  A high level of
authority will be extended to the Network Systems Engineer when called upon
to perform in the role of Technical Lead, Project Lead or Consultant, but
will be in alignment with the direction of the Information Technology
Department.  The person in this position must have an expert knowledge of
the NT operating environment as well and working knowledge of Solaris UNIX
2.x environment.  This position requires a pager to be warn at all times as
well as availability to work off business hours or as directed by the
business unit.  Act as third level support engineer to our help desk.  Own
all 3rd party NT software from installation to problem solving to upgrades.

 Functional Job Accountabilities -
1. End User Support - Serve as an expert level resource to respond to all
escalated end user/FAST requests, research and resolve user and network
problems, lead activities relating to the evaluation of new technologies
pertaining to the end user's needs.

2. 3rd Party Software Support - Own all 3rd party NT software from
installation to debugging to upgrades.  Account for all license tracking,
maintenance tracking and training.

3. Project Support - Provide support to IT initiatives and strategies as
required to ensure the success of the project.  Takes responsibility for
making project recommendations and consultations.

4. Hardware/Software Administration - Maintain the highest standards on
network system servers with regard to infrastructure performance,
maintenance, recovery, back-ups and upgrades.

Position Qualifications (Education / Experience):  Bachelor of Science
degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications.  Experience with strategic
project planning. Equivalent business experience may be considered in lieu
of degree  Experience with the Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Operating
Environment and Compaq Enterprise level equipment  IT strategic project
planning and project management a bonus

Position Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): Must have working
knowledge of PBX and Voice Mail programming- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows
NT 4.0 environment- Knowledge of Compaq Enterprise level equipment-
Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server 5.0- Working knowledge for Lotus
Notes Environment- Working knowledge of Microsoft office productivity
products- Ability to handle a fast paced environment- Excellent customer
service skills.
