[lug] DSL Availibility

Just out of curiosity, is there any way I can check to see if I can VPN
anywhere? I have a firewall using ipchains, so I have a hard time
getting out and checking it. My employer also has a VPN, but I believe
that I have to connect my laptop to the cable modem. Many months ago
(when I last did this), it worked. This not an option now. My wife has
gotten used to permanent connection to the web. Oh well.

Any ideas on how to check vpn?
