Well, "--force" is equivalent to "--replacepkgs --replacefiles
--oldpackage".  How do you expect those to be relavent to removing a
package?

The functionality you are probably looking for when deleting packages is
"--nodeps", not "--force".  If it is saying that you can't delete a
package because of dependencies, you want "--nodeps".
