We have the following Systems Administrator opening at our company.  This
is a mid-level position.  The candidate must have HP-UX, Windows and Linux
systems administrator experience as well as networking experience.  If you

Function   Analyzes, designs, develops and implements information systems.
Consults with system users and defines needs, analyzing systems problems
and designing solutions, developing system requirements and procedures,
coding and documenting programs, maintaining and refining systems and
programs. Makes purchasing recommendations for hardware and software based
upon capacity planning.

Reports To   Director, Technical Services

Qualifications   Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent. 5
years network and system administration experience including 2 years of
lead experience. Completion of Hewlett Packard, Microsoft and Cisco
administrattion classes preferred. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds
of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds of force frequently.

Skills   Must possess a solid understanding of computer operating systems
- paging and swapping, interprocess communication, devices and device
drivers file system concepts, and be able to use performance analysis to
tune systems. Must possess a solid understanding of networking/distributed
computing environment concepts - routing, client/server programming. Must
possess a solid understanding of web/Internet technologies and IT security
issues. Must possess knowlege of IP routing protocols - EIGRP, OSPF, RIP
v1/v2, NAP, IPSEC, SNA/SDLC/DLSw and various legacy protocols. Must
possess experience with dial-up modems. Must possess solid problem solving
and analytical skills. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication
skills. Must possess strong project management skills.

Primary Duties   Administers all servers including HP-UX, Linux, Novell
and Citrix. Designs, implements, and manages the network infrastructure
including all LAN, WAN, Internet connections and dial-up connections.
Ensures servers are properly monitored. Isolates and analyzes network
problems and takes corrective action when needed. Ensures both network and
server performance is monitored and makes recommendations regarding needed
capacity improvements. Ensures appropriate network and server security
access. Researches new technologies and evaluates their potential use for
Company. Provides 3rd tier troubleshooting. Supports data and LAN networks
as part of Enterprise network. Interfaces with outside vendors to resolve
business impacting technical network issues. Maintains CiscoWorks network
management platform. Performs root cause analysis for TCA owned network
issues. Assists in improving network support processes and documentations.
Administers a Frame Relay/ATM/Ethernet data network comprised of Cisco and
Nortel routers, switches and hubs. Assists in performing analysis,
planning and design of LAN architecture. Performs network equipment
repairs, installs, removals and upgrades. Performs maintenance tasks on
network servers, hubs and similar equipment. Performs configuration
management.

Other Duties   On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. May perform other
duties as directed by management.
