That's not to say that ProFTPd hasn't had it's share of problems.  I got
pretty torqued at the project when they had a remotely exploitable issue
and had the patch in CVS for like 6 months, but never released a new
version that included it.  You had to know to pick up the CVS version...

If it weren't for the fact that ProFTPd is so nice, with it's super
configurability and all, I'd probably not be using it...  I was using
one of DJB's FTP servers for a while, but many clients had issues with
it...  And for non-anonymous or upload servers, it's obviously not a
choice...
