[lug] MikTeX Update Wizard Failure

Folks, I'm hoping you can help me with this. I recently upgraded from
Qwest's Intel USB modem to the Actiontec (so I could use Linux). But,
in doing so, I broke a few programs in Windows. Some, like Kazaa, I
really don't care about, but I also broke MikTeX, and that annoys me.
Well, not MikTeX, but it's Update Wizard.

What happens is that when I start the Update Wizard, I select "Internet"
and go to the next page. But there the Wizard borks saying it can't
download the list of package sites. Now, my guess is that something to
do with the Actiontec's built-in firewall is causing this problem, but I
can't find out how to fix it!

My first thought is port forwarding or DMZ hosting, but I can't figure
out how to do this with my ISP's setup. I use CU which runs on RFC 1483
Bridging w/DHCP. It works, but you can't alter the settings on the
Actiontec (at 192.168.0.1 in a browser) without a static IP. Following
Actiontec's instructions on setting up a temporary static IP at
192.168.0.99/255.255.255.248 lets you enter the setup, but then all the
port forwarding applies to IP addresses in the 192.168.0.xxx domain,
which obviously isn't what CU uses. Catch-22.

Can anyone out there give me some advice on what to do here? I'm
thinking the command line setup ("console enable") is what I'll need to
use, but I can't find any documentation on how to use it.

Thanks,
Matt Thompson
