[lug] dumb X question

Hello,
 Im embaressed to say that i cant spell, and that i cant
figure out how to set my default desktop enviroment on
a Debian box.  I have been using gnome and I apt-get'ed
KDE. Debian must like KDE because as soon as it was installed
it became the default that "startx" invokes. So now i got
to do xinit and then gnome-session. How can i fix it so startx 
starts Gnome.
