[lug] Bad Apache problem?

Just thought I would share what I've got done so far on this problem. I have
proved that the problem is with the new Redhat glibc 2.3.2-4.80. A friend and
I debugged Apache with gdb and were able to see that Apache is doing
everything correctly. The problem seems to happen when httpd uses one of the
OS libs for file checking on .htaccess files. Whatever it's doing (we could
not really figure out what was going on) it is not doing it correctly. I
searched for glibc on Redhat's bugzilla website and there are quite a few
problems out there with the new glibc. I finally got around to backing out the
new glibc and replacing it with my older version 2.2.93-5. Everything works
perfectly fine again. I am going to submit a bug report to bugzilla and see
what they suggest...
