Hi, folks. I just got an email announcing a class some of you may be
interested in.

The "Managing ORACLE9i on Linux" class will be held in Aurora, CO on
June 10-12.  Tuition is $1125/student however we so offer a 15%
discount to user group members so BLUG members price would be $956.

Managing Oracle9i on Linux

Course Summary

Description

This class is designed to teach experienced Oracle DBAs what they need
to know to manage Oracle9i on Linux. DBAs will learn the key features
of the Linux environment and how an Oracle9i database needs to be
configured on Linux. Configuration, monitoring and management issues
will be covered. Students will learn how to tune and monitor an
Oracle9i database for maximum performance. Basic and advanced Unix
commands will be reviewed. Oracle9i DBAs will determine file system
choices, manually configure an Oracle database, setup automated
startup and shutdown scripts and configure the network. Students will
setup and configure the Oracle Enterprise Manager on Linux. The class
contains hands-on practices designed to walk the student through the
entire installation, tuning and configuration process. Companies are
looking at running OLTP databases, RAC and Data Guard configurations
on Linux. Linux has definitely arrived as a key Oracle platform when
major companies are looking at running Oracle on Linux for advanced
configurations. If you are going to be running Oracle9i on Linux this
is the class for you.
