Thanks for the suggestions to use dig and whois. Knowing a nameserver in another domain, I was able to get two on comcast.net. Also, dhcp keeps records. The location seems to depend on the linux distribution. Mine (using RH9) was in /etc/dhcpc/dhcpcd-eth0.info. Other items in there include a gateway, my current IP address, etc. Arlan
