[lug] Mystery Mouse!

I've built 2.6.0 on a RedHat 9.0 base and everything is running
properly except 2.6 likes to report a PS2 mouse that doesn't
exist (system mouse is USB).

Tried using "psmouse_noext" on the kernel's command line, but
that didn't change anything. There was chatter in the newsgroups
about "junk data" occurring during the PS2 mouse detection, so
this would seem to explain why the kernel thinks there is a mouse
at PSAUX when there isn't.

It's a trivial "problem", just wondering if anyone else is seeing this
or has info on fixing it.
