[lug] Curious about do-it-yourself VOIP box

I've setup their VOCAL softswitch and some hardware from here
(http://www.linuxjack.com) to be a SIP<=>POTS gateway. It let my
mother make internet phone calls to family using my home phone line
while she was in Africa. The long distance was WAY cheaper that way.

It was a little rough around the edges and definitely required a lot of
time and learning to get it set up, but it was a fun little project.
