That version doesn't work with the 2.6 kernel.  I use 
vpnclient-linux-4.0.4.A-k9.tar.gz which appears to work pretty well with my 
Mandrake 10 system (2.6.3).  I haven't tried it yet with Fedora (2.6.5?)
