Linode is a company the uses User Mode Linux to offer virtual servers.
Their service is reliable, and very inexpensive. You can find available
pricing at:
http://www.linode.com/products/linodes.cfm

For instance, for 19.95 a month you can get a 64 MB virtual machine
which comes with 3 gigs of space, a single IP address and a 25 gig per
month transfer limit. This is a killer deal for applications such as
the one you described above.

They give you the ability to extend the amount of RAM allocated, amount
of disk space, amount of IP addresses, and amount of bandwidth
available at different price points.

Also, you can choose from a pretty good list of distributions:
CentOS 3.1 (RHEL)
Fedora Core 1
Red Hat 8.0 (Psyche)
Red Hat 9.0 (Shrike)
Debian 3.0r1 (Woody)
Mandrake 9.1 (Bamboo)
Slackware 9.0
Gentoo Linux 1.4

There are many similar type UML based solutions for different prices
another example is http://www.linuxvds.com/. This forum post has a
listing of a bunch of providers of UML based solutions:
http://www.vdsp.net/server311.html. I'm only personally familiar with
Linode.

Seems like a good fit for your situation. At least something to
consider.
