SDSL through Covad uses a dedicated line (resold through
many local ISPs), but you pay a LOT more for the same
speeds....yet get the SDSL benefits as well.  Other than
Qwest and speakeasy (which really just uses Qwest), I
haven't yet found any other ADSL dedicated line services.

I too am looking to drop my phone service (in favor of a
cell phone for me) in Lafayette, so let me know if you find
anything!
