[lug] Linux App Midnight Problem

Running Kernel 2.4.20 on an Intel STL2 motherboard.

Application services a home brewed audio card every 23 mSec.

Seems every so often (twice a month or so) the service routine
is held off about 10-50 mSec just after midnight (like mSecs after
midnight) causing problems.
  - crond is disabled
  - clock/date syncing is disabled (ntp, gps, etc).

Trying to rule out kernel and OS processes.

Any ideas or a good forum to look into ?
