Senior HP-UX Systems Administrator

Location: Tempe, AZ or Broomfield, CO.

UNIX Operations supports the day-to-day operations of our customers UNIX 
and Linux servers. This includes both proactive and reactive management.

Responsibilities:
* Provide advanced systems administration for HP-UX.
* Plan, implement and support high availability configuration of all 
Unix systems.
* Plan and perform fail-over testing and troubleshooting.
* Analyze system performance.
* Develop (shell & perl scripting) system tools and utilities to 
simplify and support IT and business operations.
* Plan, implement and manage systems initiatives with IT and customer 
teams.
* Establish & maintain technical standards & server security policies.
* Patching HP-UX servers on scheduled basis as well as urgent security 
releases.
* Participate in on-call rotation.
* Candidate must be able to communicate technical issues in terms that 
many audiences can understand (communicate to customers).
* Candidate will be required to provide updates and status to customers.
* Provide technical development and guidance to internal IT employees.

Required Skills:
* 6+ years of HP-UX administration experience.
* HPUX 11.0 and 11i including installation, configuration and end user 
support.
* Must be experienced with HP hardware and software components.
* Must be experienced with MC Serviceguard
* Solid LVM skills (not using SAM)
* Must have proven skills with performance tuning, kernel tuning and 
kernel configuration
* Must be experienced with using Ignite for installation.
* Must be experienced with Ignite for recovery via tape and network.
* Must understand TCP/IP network configuration
* Must have in-depth knowledge of HP-UX in a SAN environment.
* Must be experienced with HP’s patch management process.
* Print services / hpnp subsystem
* Must be able to install software with swinstall using a depot or 
compiling from source.
* Must be experienced with HP’s support structure and support tools.

Desired Skills:
* Familiar with HP Auto-Port Aggregation (APA).
* Experience leading a team on projects.
* Excellent communication skills for customer and team interactions.
* Familiar with HP's "Trusted Mode" security model.
* 3+ years of experience with either Solaris, AIX or Linux (Red Hat).
