Yes - I copy the "templates" to ifcfg-eth0.

On the other servers of the same type, I put the one or the other of my "template files" in ifcfg-eth0, depending upon whether I want a STATIC or DHCP.  It worked in other environments.  This PC did use the DHCP config OK at home.  (Maybe I broke something before I moved it?)
