[lug] ftp issue seems to be fixed

First, thanks for all the comments and suggestions.  I'm going to play 
around with some even though it seems that things are working.  I sent 
an email to my contact that helped me get this machine on their network, 
and he said it appeared they were having network problems and he would 
get back to me.  I got another email a few hours later to try again, and 
I've now sent a bunch of files without trouble.  I'll ask what the the 
problem was and report back.
