Most definitely.  I have also had good luck with Diamond Supra Express 
modems.. solid stuff..

Basically, I have a remote server running a website with some folks who 
are just allowing us use of their facilities and bandwidth, they don't 
want to do much -- if any administration on the system.  So, to allow us 
to do maintenance at a runlevel with networking off, they suggested that 
we get a modem installed.. (they provide the phone line).

So, I need a modem that can be configured for me dialing into it so I 
can get a shell prompt through the serial port of the server -- or I 
need to have the server itself setup to handle a modem connection.

That is very handy -- but since this machine is up all the time handling 
web requests, I don't think this is a concern.. though, that is very 
handy for having a home system accessible in this manner.
