They wouldn't know until it was next powered up.  You should be able to 
re-flash to the original Linksys firmware after DL'ing a copy from the 
Linksys website.

I've flashed mine a couple of times and had no problems.  It is advisable 
to make sure that the cfg parm "Boot Wait" is enabled.  Enabling it hedges 
against failure of a flash attempt, in that the box will wait a few 
seconds during the initial stages of boot-up so that one can feed it a 
firmware image.  That by-passes having to manually initiate a flash 
session from the box UI.
