whoa! That takes me back!

For non-ascii chars VT-100 terminals send (sent?) escape sequences.

IIRC there is no RSX equivalent of termcap, the esc sequences were 
handled by the o/s.

Your best bet to find the esc sequence code mapping is in the source 
code for some old vt-100 emulators. These were common in the mid to late 
80's (I hacked one for my Amiga c1989), but I have no idea (beyond 
google) of where to find one now.
