I'm not surprised. I'm one of those people with the attitude that a
single warning is unacceptable. I can't stand software bugs, and won't
put up with my own software being buggy. I imagine there are a lot of
programmers around that have this same attitude (I know some, they're
the type I work best with), and probably there are similar people in
charge of various distro policies. It seems that many of the rpm tools
"work" but do not work without compromises when used on different
distros or different versions of the same distro. It's one of those
things I need to adjust to, the politics of packaging (I call it
politics because the science seems to require exceptions and compromises
every step of the way).
