I'm interested in a SIP softphone to test out my Asterisk server's ability to
take incoming calls. So far I've tried:

 - Gizmo (doesn't work with Sarge, and they don't provide or seem even
understand what a "static binary" is based on the forum posts by the support
   staff). Non-free anyhow.

 - iaxcomm (I know, it's IAX not SIP), but it seems completely amateur (they
provide a binary with library dependencies that aren't specified).

 - kphone works, but isn't cross-platform

I'm tired of looking, is there anything out there that:
  - just works (this probably means static binary on Linux), although
compiling is fine if it actually compiles
  - is cross-platform
  - is Free (capital F) software
  - supports SIP

So far it looks to me like the best way to go is kphone on Linux, Gizmo for
Mac and Windows (since they don't usually mind that it's non-Free anyhow).
