but never the complete interview.

I worked for a company that put together a major device-control
package for the 370 mainframe environment in C++ and actually released
it to the unsuspecting public. It was a superbly well designed (even
award winning) monstrosity consisting of mega modules, and it ran like
a dog. It only took a couple of skilled programmers about 3 months to
build a replacement in 370 Assembler based on the original design. The
replacement worked efficiently; this product is still in the field
today. The C++ program is still just an award winning
monstrosity/relic.
