I have the same problem. I have noticed that the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file
does not even mention the usb device/wireless mouse I have as a
device...something else has configured it, and it works, but I don't
know how (FC5). More interesting to me seems to be that the "ballistics"
of mouse acceleration has an adjustment in KDE, but there is no base
sensitivity setting of any kind...in other words, it chooses its base
sensitivity, and I can only adjust the acceleration portion of it. I'd
love to know how to adjust the base value; I'm also wondering if adding
a pointer device section in the xorg.conf which is specific to the usb
mouse could allow separate control? I poked around for days on this and
never did find an answer.
