My name is Kevin and I live in Longmont. My first attempt at Linux was years 
back after trying an OS called "Coherent". My first Linux came on a SIMTEL CD 
set. Next I tried Redhat. About this time I was working as a PC tech and was 
fixing more Windows boxes than Linux (I did one in all the time I worked). 

I tried Slackware 10 a few years back, but still had to keep Windows. 

My recent box also has Slack on it. I put it on as it seems the PC I have had 
a "bad" version of WindowsXP so no updates are available. In between slack 10 
and 11 I noticed that my scanner (and no digital camera) are supported under 
Linux. So the switch was easy to make (Except for the loss of access to 
Campaign Cartographer 3). 

Looking forward to learning more and may even try another distro later today, 
just for fun of the learning experience.
