[lug] org net redirect or modrewrite to com

If you want one vhost site to serve all the tld's that have been
registered for it what's the best method to route the .org and .net to
.com?

i've seen talk about two methods:

1) using redirects (301?) in the vhost declaration
2) using mod rewrite to rewrite url.org and url.net to url.com.

anybody have preferences from a performance, seo, admin and or security
perspective?

feel free to share the directives you use as I can modify them easily to
fit my current site.
