Hard to say.  Look on ebay, often you can find various laptop parts for
repairs there.  I will say that recently I sold the T42p in question above,
with 1600x1200 display and, apparently marginal hard drive, for $400.  So,
if you are finding motherboard prices close to or above that, maybe it's
not worth it.
