I think Microcenter's continued existence here is evidence of that.
They shouldn't count Denver's loss of "Tech America", since those
stores closed nationwide.

Oh, I KNOW!  I got to visit one in San Diego last year, but could
spend only a few minutes there before a schedule conflict cut the
visit short. I really wanted to browse the entire place. Since then
I've consoled myself with the occasional spectacular sale (like a very
nice Antec case for $30 after rebate)

Sigh ...
