[lug] Mac unix root account and /etc/hosts

I'm pretty sure that changing /etc/hosts won't have any effect at all.
It only exists for compatibility with older BSD software.

OS X saves its host, password, DNS, services, and everything else like
that in some database format and I'm not sure how to change it.
