Because you probably aren't interested in how many guest users are logged
into the CMS, what the current date and time is, changes in the JavaScript
or CSS, what your IP address is and other things which may change all the
time but don't really make the page contents interesting...

For some pages a simple diff of the current and last copies of the page may
work, but if you're looking at 200 different pages you're almost certainly
going to run into these issues that make it seem like the pages are
changing when they really aren't (as far as you're concerned).
