Well, this is a work thing, although my Linux work desktop is ubuntu
8.04 and the official Linux boxes at work are RHEL3. Since I *can't*
change the work boxes and I *don't want* to change my desktop just for
this app, I'm glat it's working so far.

So far I've been able to compile and link everything with gcc 4.3.2 on
my ubuntu box without any issues. Their official reason for staying with
that version of RH/gcc was "backwards compatibility".

Thanks again to all for your advice as it's really appreciated.

Ken
