Thanks for all the suggestions.  Turns out it wasn't a Mac problem, but
a Linux change.  An upgrade (I think) to F10 on the server box appears
to have enabled a check of the incoming IP address in /etc/hosts.  That
address wasn't there so the mount request was rejected.  I added the
entry to /etc/hosts and the mount worked.

The problem seems to be that this wasn't a requirement before that
update.  The exports file provided the permissions, not a host file
lookup.  Unless the IP address changed for some reason on my wife's Mac.
There was an entry for her machine in /etc/hosts on the server, but it
was off by 1.  Sheesh.  I hate being an (non-linux) admin at home.
