[lug] boot eSata

a lot of the newer systems today come with an eSata port.

i'm thinking about buying one and was wondering if anybody out there knows whether external sata drives attached to these eSata ports can be made bootable these days?

i imagine it's mostly a function of the bios. if you can enable "boot from eSata" or similar than it's probably a go. but i'm not sure if that's standard bios fare these days.

anybody have some first hand experience with this? with both linux and win OSs?

i'm liking the idea of having separate bootable OS's on different eSata drives if possible versus traditional dual boot scenarios on a single internal drive. just seems cleaner and more flexible to me in the long run if i can do it.

thanks
