[lug] Atom Based Computers

No idea what causes it, but it did take almost 6 hours to rebuild the kernal
with 1gb of ram and a 1.6ghz proc. Though this was on an ubuntu 10.04
install with all the gnome garbage running. I am sure in console only mode
and tweaking the power settings it would be faster.

This strikes me as curious. I would think that a processor running at 1 GHz
or better would compile fairly quickly. I figured that the atom was not as
fast at the Pentium, but I didn't think it was a dog.  Any Idea why it
compiles so slow?
