[lug] Breaking braking?

The articles I read from IEEE Spectrum answered those questions (I'm
paraphrasing...):

Neutral was surprisingly difficult to find in the circuitous shift
pattern, especially when the car is already out of control. Power
brakes are powered by the engine but when the engine is wide-open,
power is shifted to accelerating and no matter how hard you push on
the brake, without power assist, you can't stop the car.

Here are some good reads on the topic:

IEEE Spectrum: "How hard should it be to stop a runaway luxury car?" http://spectrum.ieee.org/blog/computing/it/riskfactor/how-hard-should-it-be-to-stop-a-runaway-car

IEEE Spectrum: "This car runs on code" http://www.spectrum.ieee.org/green-tech/advanced-cars/this-car-runs-on-code
