I think someone mentioned wanting to know more about nx at the meeting. Here
is our current setup. Currently in use mainly by Windows and Mac clients
actually (have had some trouble with Fedora nx clients), but the server is
running CentOS 5.5.

yum -y install freenx
service freenx-server start

You also need a desktop environment installed on the server. We are using xfce.

This will create an "nx" user with an ssh key. The "private" key that is
needed to configure the clients is in
/var/lib/nxserver/home/.ssh/client.id_dsa.key

Client setup instructions are:

Download the NX client from http://www.nomachine.com/download.php, and
install. On first run you will see the NX Connection Wizard. Setup the
connection as follows:

     * Session: (whatever you want)
     * Host:<server host name>
     * Pick your internet connect as appropriate
     * Click Next
     * Next to Unix, select Custom
     * Click on Settings
           o Click "Run the following command"
           o Enter "startxfce4"
           o Under "Options" select "New virtual desktop"
           o Click OK
     * You can change the size of the remote desktop window. By default it
will be nearly full screen.
     * Click Next
     * Check "Show the Advanced Configuration dialog"
     * Click Finish
     * Click on "Key..."
     * Replace the existing text with the following:

<text of client.id_dsa.key>

     * Click Save
     * Click OK
     * You will now see a connect dialog, enter your normal username and
password and click Login.
