Elyse - thanks for the quick checklist.

Turns out - BIG GROAAN !!!  I'm on AOL mail.  They bought my previous wonderful email provider.
AOL simply sieves out any "home computer" traffic - won't even put it to Spam.  So my tests to my email address just disappeared, magically, no wonder how well things seemed to be working.

And no wonder nobody else has this problem - cause nobody else would be on AOL mail...   :-{  %-{
