On my desktop at home with an ATI 54xx based card in it I can't easily
tell if I'm using the radeon driver or the ATI driver -- that's a
testament to how good the radeon driver is getting.

But on my HP ProBook laptop at work with an HP docking station, I have
to run the ATI binary driver to get two external monitors to work.
Something about this laptop or the dock is unique or non-standard or
cursed and it does very strange things without the ATI driver.

So just for the record, there are some really good cases where the
binary drivers are required. I appreciate ATI for providing them.
