[lug] q: late allocation for file backed filesystem

Hi,

Tried searching but didn't manage to find much info...

I asked some months back & learnt that it's possible to use a file as a file
system.
ie: /tmp/myfs can be mounted & formatted to ext2fs, hold some files, etc.
/tmp/myfs would be created using dd, so that it has a fixed size.

Am wondering if it's possible to do late file size allocation (ala VMWare)?

Thanks & best regards,

KarHeng
