I bought a TP-Link TL-WN722N on Amazon because it got good reviews and one
reviewer said it worked with Ubuntu 10.04 (LTS) out of the box. Plus, well,
you know, ... it was on sale.

It arrived. I plugged it in. No wireless.

Rats.

Took it to work and tried a second Ubuntu 10.04 box. Still nothing. Googled
a bit, then downloaded and installed an Atheros driver. Zilch. Bupkus.
Nothing.

I suppose it could just be a dud, right? Before I just return it, anyone
have other suggestions or advice? I'll bring it to Hacking Society tonight
to see if someone there knows, too.

The vendor's phone support wasn't helpful.

"What operating system?"

"Ubuntu 10.04."

"No. What operating system? Windows XP, Windows 7, ..."

"Linux."

"Okay. We work with Linux. Are you getting wireless?"

"No. Do you have someone there who can help with Linux?"

"Wait. I will ask" [hold music] "No. We do not support Linux. You must
call Linux for support."
