Well, yeah, that was made clear ahead of time.  It was very helpful to
use the opportunity to try several different approaches to the
problem, and more importantly develop my pair-programming skills,
instead of being overly concerned with getting any single version
finished.

That didn't prevent me from feeling like eventually I needed to have
*some* version done.  The goal of making finished, working code is
always part of a programming exercise, however little.
