Folks,

A friend sent me the following note. Most of the areas he lists aren't
things I'm particularly strong on, but I'll bet some of you are.
Suggestions?

Jeff,

I'm chasing a new job, and I'd like to sharpen/refresh my skills in these
areas:

1) networking technologies
2) IP networking network analysis
3) network performance and application issues
4) network tools like tcpdump
5) analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
6) Unix system calls

Could you recommend study resources?

(And no, no point in asking me "Does she want .... ?" or "Could she ...?"
What I know is what you just read.)
