I have always been a fan of www.dellauction.com since the prices are great
and you can get machines without Windows, thus saving the dough when one is
going to install Linux anyway.

I meant to say comparable, not compatible. I need more coffee.....

I've gotten a few systems from Pogo Linux (http://www.pogolinux.com/). Good
solid systems at decent pricing that is compatible to when I buy the parts
on newegg and build it in house.

Good customer service as well.

Maybe I'm reading too much into the OP, but I think he meant "with Linux".

This is a good time for a r3VOLution.

I agree on the Dell Precision.
I had a T3400 and was recently upgraded to a T3500 Windows 7 64 bit. This
thing is nice, we use them for 3D CAD design.
I also have the Precision 390, T3400 and an older 490 at home.

The Dell Precisions workstations are workhorses, you can get them stock with
quad core processors, 2 sockets, and 32G of RAM (last time I spec'd).

I've been doing some computer shopping for the employees of my startup

Zareason Ultralap 430 and she's happy with it. I haven't seen a
Zareason workstation yet.
