[lug] Install 'Linux' on a used (i.e. refurb/cheap) Pentium computer: need help/advice

Newer versions (12.04 and greater) of Ububntu will reportedly not boot on
hardware that does not support PAE, the same may well be true for Debian.

Other than that, there's little any of us can do without knowing more
specifics about the hardware and software in question.

FWIW, I've made a few visits to Action computer and have never been
impressed with their prices or service.
