[lug] KDE won't render correctly, but GNOME does!?

Ask on fedoraforum.org to get Fedora oriented answers to this one.

The NVS 285 cards are pretty good.  They're nice, simple, low-profile
cards that support more than one monitor and don't require fans.  I
haven't had any problems running a variety of recent quality X displays
on them.

I'd say this is a more difficult KDE compatability/configuration issue.

Hard to troubleshoot without being in front of the system.

You might try ssh'ing into the box and running 'xstart' as that user..
Capture the output to see if it chokes.  As others suggested, check the
system and user log files while doing so.
