[lug] Chrome memory requirements

I mentioned earlier that Chrome somehow manages to consume all of the
memory on my system with 48 GB... I brought up the task manager and even
processes with just a few relatively simple pages were consuming 200+ MB.
Several of the processes consumed over 1 GB.

I have no idea where this memory is going. Looking at the task manager on
other systems it feels like it just determines the total amount of memory
in the system and divides by 20 or something and then grabs it. I'm sure
it's not that simple but WTF is that memory going?
