[lug] Process dying without core dump

Hi,

My dying process in heartbeat has returned.

The symptoms are that one process of 4 (all forked w/o exec) dies
without leaving a core file.

It is running as root, and is in a root-writable current directory. I
think I remember seeing a sigsegv when I turned off SIGCHILD in it's
parent.

So, what does the fact that it doesn't drop a core tell me?

[it's not using /proc/ha at the moment -- though it does try and open a
non-existent file on it].
