An installfest is an event where people come together to assist other in
installing and configuring their Linux systems.
My thought about this "work in progress" is that the event I have in mind
has three things going on:
1) Installfest/ Help Desk where people can get direct help to solve Linux
issues and maybe get a system installed or at least understand what it
takes to install Linux.
2) Demo Day- demos of cool things that are done with Linux by ordinary
folks and techno-supergeniuses.
3) Mini Expo- either vendors or fans showing off a particular offering
from the Linux world- either opensource or commercial. i.e. Lotus Domino
running on Linux or Oracle or DB2 running on Linux. Something like that.
I view this as a means to just be helpful and show some cool things about
Linux to CU students, some of whom are members of our group. Maybe, CU
students will want to start their own LUG at some point too.
I would like to keep this simple and grassroots oriented.
That's what I think an installfest means to me...
